Precipitable water

The total amount of atmospheric water vapour in a vertical column of unit cross-sectional area. It is commonly expressed in terms of the height of the water if completely condensed and collected in a vessel of the same unit cross section [IPCC, 2013].

Projection

A projection is a potential future evolution of a quantity or set of quantities, often computed with the aid of a model. Unlike predictions, projections are conditional on assumptions concerning, for example, future socioeconomic and technological developments that may or may not be realized [IPCC, 2013].

Kyoto Protocol

The Kyoto Protocol is an international legal treaty that explicitly seeks to limit emissions quantified greenhouse gas effect of developed countries, according to most scientific investigations, as causes of global warming.

Through the protocol was set a timetable by which developed countries undertake to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases by at least 5.2% compared to 1990 levels in the period between 2008 and 2012.
